You could be paying too much Council Tax

Millions of home owners could be paying too much Council Tax and may be able to obtainn a rebate.

Council Tax banding has been around since it was first introduced in its current form in 1991. Only a minimum number of properties were actually valued to save costs and all other houses in a geographical area were given banding based on those few properties. Millions of homes could be in the wrong band and therefore paying too much tax.

Since 1991 more than 900, 000 homes in England have been transfered to lower bands. This could actually be the tip of the iceberg.

An entrepreneur by the name of Martin Lewis has devised an on line guide which will take you through the process to see if you are paying too much. Click on this link to visit the website at Money Saving Expert.
