New Bishop of Carlisle Appointed Bishop James Newcombe currently Bishop of Penrith has been appointed as the new Bishop of Carlisle. This has gladdened the hearts of so many in the Diocese who know Bishop James and his appointment was welcomed. Bishop James' enthronement will take place at 2pm on Saturday 10 October 2009 at Carlisle Cathedral. New Team Rector Appointed The Revd Canon Nick Ash, at present Precentor of Portsmouth Cathedral, has been appointed the new Team Rector for Cartmel Peninsula Team Ministry. Nick will be licensed at a service at St Paul's church, Grange over Sands, at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday 19 November. We all wish him well as he prepares to join us.
