Constituents: Allantoin, mucilage, tannins, resin, alkaloids, carotene, glycosides, Vitamin B12, protein, zinc, beta-sitosterol, steroidal saponins
 
Keynote:
 
Immune stimulant, anti-protazoal, antispasmodic, anti-haemorrhage, anti-histamine, antibacterial effect particularly against staphylococcus and streptococcus, anti-emetic, anti-cancer, anthelmintic, oestrogenic activity (extract from fresh flowers), menstrual regulator (Thomas Bartram)
