Why whole plant tinctures and not tablets?Because tinctures are liquid they begin to be absorbed into the blood stream and start working the moment they enter your mouth.
A plant at the peak of its flowering cycle emits essential oils which are extremely delicate and light, liable to change rapidly and are easily evaporated at midday temperatures. We know them as scents and aromas; they are designed to attract butterflies and bees. By harvesting fresh herbs in flower at 11 o'clock in the morning and immersing them immediately into solution we are able to capture all these volatile ethereal qualities. Because of this we have found our tinctures likened to flower essences, in that they give an immediate lift when taken.
Whole plant synergy cannot be achieved without the inclusion of these volatile ethereal qualities which are lost upon drying. Any arguments for the superiority of tincture made with dried herbs let alone tablets are not actually valid.
Tablets are made from dried herbs and have lost some of the vital components that are necessary for herbal medicine to work as effectively as fresh herb tincture.
It is always better to use organic rather than non-organic herbs, but biodynamic herbs are the best you can grow and use because they are richer in basic nutrients, vitamins and minerals, trace elements and essential oils, giving a stronger life force with greater vitality and health. Because herbal tinctures are concentrated active components of the herb it would be unwise to have any artificial fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides in, or on, the plant. |
