Elements: Linking to Forums

• Choose the "Link to Forum" element from the list of element types.  
• Click on the Add Item button.  
• Enter the relevant information into the boxes provided.  

The "Link to Forum" element provides a link to a discussion forum. You need to have already created the discussion forum you wish to link to; see the discussion forums page for information on how to do that.
 
Simply provide the text of the link (eg "Click here to enter the Discussion Forum") and choose which forum to link to from the drop-down list, then click on the Store Changes button.
 
Note that the default link type ("instant") will cause the page to never actually be seen: instead, as soon as the viewer loads the page containing the link, they will be instantly redirected to the forum itself. This means that you can set aside a "Forum" page containing only this link and clicking on a link to the page (eg from the site navigation) will take a viewer straight to the forum.
