Elements: Linking to Forums
Use this element to help manage archives of press releases. This element will list of all pages marked as news items, in date order. Fill in the options to determine what news features will be shown, and in what format they will be shown.
- News item list style: select from the drop down list what style the press releases will appear.
- News type: For this element to only display current news items (items that have not yet reached their "archive date"), choose the "Current news" option. For this element to only display archived news items (items that have passed their "archive date" and which are therefore no longer current), choose the "Archived news" option.
- Headings: To break up news items with hourly, daily, weekly or monthly headings (eg "March 2003", "February 2003", etc), select the desired heading frequency here. If you do not want any headings to break up the news item list, select "None".
- Heading Type: select from the drop down box the size of the headings
- Show dates: select from the drop down box if you want to show dates.
- Limit items: If you specify a limit here, only the given number of items will be shown. For instance if you specify "30" and there are 50 news items, only the most recent 30 will be listed.
- Max title length: If you specify a limit here, item titles will be truncated to the number of characters you specify. This can be useful if you are showing a brief list in a sidebar, for instance.
- Limit to this site: select if you want to limit to the current site.
- Ticker size: If you specified the list style as "Scrolling ticker", then you should specify the width and height of the ticker here, in pixels.
- Limit to category: By default, news items in all categories are shown. If you want this element to only show news items under a particular category, select that category from this list.
- Alignment: select from the drop down box the alignment.
- Click the Store Changes button to save and return to the updated Page Editor screen.
